This Christmas was better than I thought it would be! ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ ﾜｰｲ


First, here's our Christmas tree! 

My brother took these with my camera so I figured I'd show.

Instead of visiting our cousins on Christmas like I wanted to we stayed home for Christmas (as usual) 

But it wasn't bad.

A 1000 piece Kiki's delivery service  puzzle from my friend from school, Tom.

A phones strap and notepad from my best friend Jenny.

A bunny charm from my brother (he got me socks too which is great because I love socks but I wore them already...)

Pajamas from my aunt

I love these because they have frogs!!

And she also got me this!!

It's called a boom box. You simply stick that end to any flat service that vibrates (actually cardboard works pretty well) and you plug up the other end (it's wound up right now) to your ipod. Then that flat surface becomes  speakers! My aunt know about my dance covers so she got this for us thinking we'd always have music to play as long as we had this. It actually isn't loud enough to do any kind of outside cover or street performance but I'm touched that she thought about us!! o(^▽^)o 

I got some money from my dad and great aunt and my mother gave us a bunch of chocolate! ♥

THESE ARE GREAT

They're chocolate covered oreos and they're better than I thought they ever could be!

Besides the presents and food, Ari's friends came over and he brought JUST DANCE WII with him!!!

That's the Japanese version of Just Dance!!! o(≧∇≦o)(o≧∇≦)o 

So much fun!!! They have Morning Musume's Renai Revolution and DBSK's Keep Your Head Down on it.

They also have some KARA songs, some Pink Lady songs, some Namie Amuro and I think a BoA song!

He also brought Michael Jackson: The Experience

I was in heaven （★￣∀￣★） 

Yes! I just did a live today, but Ari and I will do another one on January 2nd after the New Years.

This is because we're going to visit our cousins for the next few days and won't be back until then!

It'll be at 9:30 AM EST! Be there if you can!

Also!! How could I forget!!

I ended up participating in the Galaxias! dance contest!! I didn't expect to gain anything from it because I don't have an HD camera, nor did I have time to make an amazing outfit or find a great place to record it at.

But I was still chosen as one of the 20 second place winners out of about 200 entries!!!

I get a staff band^^ I wonder how they'll send it to me....

Right! So far my vacation has been GREAT!

Happy because.....

Christmas is the day after tomorrow!!!

I wanna get out of this house!!

I've been home since Sunday and my mother has had me clean something everyday!

Christmas means I get to see other people!!

Not that I haven't already^___^

I went Christmas shopping with Ari and my friends yesterday!

I bought slippers for Ari from Uniqlo

They look like dancing clogs!! XD

I haven't found anything for my brother yet....

The display window at Macy's on 34th street is amazing O.O

I have no clue what they are...I just know that it's beautiful!! 

We walked to 42nd street from there. We stopped by Kinokuniya were I picked up some stationary for the Christmas cards that I'm sending out to muh bros tomorrow!!

Today Ari and I had our second live on Nico Nico Douga!! (I finally made one and we've had two lives ever since!!)

We woke up at 8AM to stream by 9:30 but it was worth it!

About 250 people watched altogether! We somehow managed to attract 24 members to our community!

Today it was just me failing to answer simple questions in Japanese and Ari repeating what I say but it'll get better as I practice more...I think.

Ready for the Holidays!!

Hello!

This is actually a picture from two day ago...

The semester ended on the 15th and the two day showcase that I performed in ended yesterday!!

I'm free!!! ヽ(´▽`)/

What am I going to do now?!?!?!

I went downtown near the village today ^___^

My cousins randomly called and said that they wanted to hang out! Ari couldn't go because she has finals to study but me and my brother went!

First we went to Waverly Restaurant for dinner...I forgot to take pictures. ORZ

I had the Waverly Melt which is pretty much a hamburger with caramel-ed onions and cheese on toast.

It really does melt in your mouth ( °٢° )

So good!!

It came with a pickle and "salad" ( aka iceberg lettuce and tomatoes) and I had it with a cup of coffee.

So filling (￣ー￣)

Afterwards we went to Urban Outiftters across the street.

I got these!!!

Bunny Slippers!!

They're so cozy (I'm wearing them now)

And only for ten bucks!!

After that we shopped around at a few vintage stores.

We went to a store that sold surplus military gear and even some vintage stuff. I think t's called Uncle Sam's/

It was pretty cool!

And I want a pair of those boots :)

Then we went to St. Marks and my cousin took us to this punk rockers sort of store where all of the awesome tumblr shoes exist

See those white creepers on the left from center? Momochi wears those in Buono's newest PV! 

Speaking of which...

You should check it out! The song is decent and the cinematography is GREAT! 

I  ♥ Buono! even though they don't dance much anymore :( 

But I really think that Tsunku (or whomever is their new image manager) is deliberately trying to turn Buono! from a cute rock idol group into rock artists! It's a little more mature and I don't think it's all bad. 

But anyways!!

It was pretty short but I wore my sailor fuku which most people haven't seen and Ari danced to Tsuretei songs :D

It has been a while since my last post!

So here's what's been going on! (`･ω･´)

During Thanksgiving break Ari and I recorded a new video!

Yay!!! We might also upload the 'making of' this video sometime this month!

ALSO

Last weekend my student comp piece went up!!

So far every semester since Sophomore year I've participated in Student Composition class for dance majors.

This the second piece I've ever choreographed.

I'll upload it to my channel sometime next week but I'll tell you ahead of time....

I'm so proud of my cast!!!

The crowd responded really well to it !!! So happy!! ヽ(´▽`)/

Today is the last day of classes.

This week is tech for the upcoming dance shows this Thursday and Friday.

I'll be performing for the first time in a year!! I'm not nervous...yet ;A;

But this week I'll have a LOT of free time.

What to do?! (ﾟДﾟ;≡;ﾟДﾟ)

I'll probably spend a lot of tim!e by myself.... ('A`)

Thoughts ♥

My thought process when choreographing

I pull out my kira-kira, fuwa-fuwa pencil case and my sketch pad and I draw out formations because usually my work relies heavily on many patterns that take you across the room to make one seamless "ballet"

But this week I just doodled because I was tired.....

haha :3

I'm soooo ready for Thanksgiving break=/

But I have sooooo much work to do

I don't even think I've eaten properly today....

This week kind of flew by stress and all (Thank god)

Today my classmate from my Costuming class invited everyone over to see her new dog

I know it looks bad because he's in a cage but he was running around right before this!

I took this picture right before we were about to leave so she putt him back in his cage so that he wouldn't get into anything while she was gone.

(And it was the only time he would sit still)

He's so cute ♥

I forget his name because she made it so long and ridiculous!

But he's so precious!!!

Today's Thursday so I met up with my mentee today ^__^

But isn't his sweater cool! I want one like it!!

I actually get along pretty well with my mentee and I noticed we have a lot of the same habits.

One that I think is funny  is whenever we don't know what to say we both cross our arms and hum.

Yup, we gun b BFF's for life! OωO

Tomorrow I'm going to go see Chunky Move perform!

They're a dance company that incorporates  video effects in their work!

It's going to be amazing!!

I need a break!

It's getting a little rough you guys.....

I've closed my twitter account for the time being (it's sooo distracting) at least until jury week/ final's week is over and I can take a breather from school and return to regular youtubing activities ^^(sort of)

Thanksgiving break is coming up and Ari and I are planning on (hopefully) covers a few things during the break!

I've been checking Nico comments on my videos a lot recently.
I see a few that bother me.

"Is that a boy?"

One, I KNOW I have two TV's in my living room..but I guess that is a little weird...

Okay I'll let that one slide.

But a boy...REALLY?!?!

Do I REALLY look like a boy to you Nicochuuuuu????

I mean I know there aren't a lot of black people in Japan but surely you can tell the difference! 

And this isn't the first time this has happened!

I mean, I know I'm not SUPER KAWAII DESU!!!!

But I know I'm not shaving my mustache in the morning! 

Geez.....

But you know, recently I'm trying this new way of living. And that is to be comfortable in my own skin.

You see, I've been obsessed with Tom Felton recently (the entire Harry Potter cast actually, it's jusy Tom's turn)

And I saw an photo set of him on tumblr. He was talking about Helena Bonham Carter and how think she is very comfortable with herself and doesn't care what others think about her.He finds that to make her very beautiful.

Recently, I'm into Mori Style and part of being a Mori Girl is being comfortable in your own skin.

And I love Helena on film so I looked up a couple of videos of her in interviews and on shows. She is very beautiful visually but  I also noticed that she is  indeed a very layed back  person.

She does and says some odd things (i .e. putting her feet up in chairs during tv shows) but she really doesn't seem to care. She' can be a  bit rude, she says what she likes. She's very forward and very sure.

It adds to her charm!

I look up to her because she's odd and truly an artist! I can't believe she makes her own costumes!

She's so amazing....

I really do look up to her!

So I want to try this way of living!! Not that I want to say rude things....

To be simply yourself no matter what kind of crowd you're in...is a hard thing to do.

Not that you won't feel awkward in some situations but you shouldn't be afraid to be you!

Suzuki Airi is like that too^^

I think to be comfortable with yourself is a great quality to have and I'm going to work towards it!

So that no matter where I am or who I'm with I can just be me^^

Fall Foliage ♥ Part II

I'm back from my hunt!

 It  started out warm in the afternoon but it got colder as the day went on ;w;

Not sure I was prepared for the weather to drop 15 degrees

No probably not...

Bundled up under layers and layers of blanketsなう！！

It's so uncomfortable in my apartment recently! It's either really hot or really cold!

So when I'm in the house alone I usually just cut off the heat for a bit and snuggle under my blankets^^

Today was pretty good

I visited my friend Tom at work^^ (He works at Johnny Rockets) and he paid for my meal today!

I was really hungry but I wasn't supposed to be spending money so that was nice ♥

I missed the dance showcase that I was amped to see!

Tickets sold out so fast ;w;

I guess I'll have to catch the next show.

But now I can get new headphones!!!!

YES

Okay...

I need to go to sleep early tonight!!!

No drama watching or I won't go to sleep ;w;

New tights ♥

It's 50 degrees so I get to wear my new tights^^

This print on them is so cute!

And the bows have a different texture than the rest of the stocking.

I'm also going on my foliage hunt part two.

The leaves have changed so much since September so I want to capture them before it starts to rain again!

Which is nice since the leaves NEVER change color in New York!

Halloween means something different to me♥

I love Halloween decorations!

In this city, people go all out with decorating!

It's so cool!!! But it's funny because I HATE scary things but LOVE Halloween decorations!! They're so cute^^

On October 30th me and my good friend Tom had a baking night. Everything we baked would be sold during our classmate's memorial service. All the money collected would go towards the scholarship put in his name^^

I don't think I've ever been prouder to be a part of my class.

And to think I used to all but hate this school haha.

It really does come down to the kind of people you surround yourself with, or to be more specific the people you don't..

Well, it works both ways doesn't it?

Anyways, this was my first time making banana/ apple bread..

To be frank I did everything wrong....

I was supposed to add 1 1/2 cups of butter and 1tsp of creme cheese in one bowl and beat at room temperature...

that's not room temperature...

So we heated up the bowl a bit and it was better.

Then you're supposed to gradually add the sugar to the bowl and beat the mixture until it's light and fluffy.

Well at this point I had already added the sugar, flour, baking soda and baking powder together in one bowl....ORZ

So I figured that I'd just add the whole dry mixture and gradually add that to the butter and creme cheese and everything would be fine.

It was so hard to mix 

Furthermore we needed two eggs but I only had one..

so we added a little bit of milk to the mixture to soften it up a bit. After adding the banana and apple this is what it looked like

It turned out with the consistency of dough...which it isn't really supposed to be...
But it looked better than it did before!

We mixed it a bit more and it moistened up...a bit

After that you add one half of the mixture into pan, sprinkle two tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon on top of that layer. (Like a derp I misread tspn and added two tablespoons  of ground cinnamon as well -__-) Then you add a layer of pecans on top of that followed by the remainder of the mixture (now dough) into the baking pan.

The idea is that there will be a layer of brown sugar/ cinnamon/ pecan-y goodness in the middle of the banana loaf. 

About an hour later!

It actually didn't look or taste that bad! It was pretty good if you ask me^^

While we waited for that to cool, Tom carved a pumpkin!

I think it came out pretty good!!!

Her name is Latisha Kobe

Don't ask me why we named her that.....

We ended up talking about Naruto for another hour after that.. (not sure how)

I slept over at Tom's house and  went to sleep at about 3 in the morning to get up at 8 in time to run back to my house, drop of baking supplies and drop the banana bread to the bake sale. 

I was so tired....

But I went to ALL of my classes that day and the memorial service.

It was beautiful and all very emotional. So many people came and it was really well organized.

Everyone was respectful, they hung pictures of our classmate on the wall and showed a tribute video via projector on the wall.

There was live music and dance performances. It was genuinely one of the most human experiences I've ever had in my life

Students putting together something positive in light of a tragic occurrence. Something that lets me know we're all becoming adults now and have the power to do something big for other people.

We'll all be seniors next year and maybe we'll do this again..maybe not. But it's nice to know that this was able to happen this year, in light of everyone being so busy and the short amount of time we had to put it together. 

I'm just grateful to be here at this time, at this school, with these people.

Junior year really has been different from last year.

 Being away from home can be a lot.

Last year, even though I was always surrounded by my friends I never felt like I was a part of something and the stress and isolation felt awful and sucked the motivation out of me.

But this year I've changed my circle a bit and it really has changed my college experience. 

I am alone a lot but that's because I choose to be. I like to think.

But I always look forward to going to class with my peers because it feels a safe environment that I can return to.

It feels like home away from home.

And you have no idea how long it took me to finally find something like this

I'm just grateful. And genuinely happy for the first time in a while.

I think I'll write one more entry. One a little bit more light-hearted than this haha.
