DKDK + Face Book Live

Hi~!

We've uploaded a new cover since we did "BOSS" by NCT U in June.

It figures that we'd get into fromis_9 immediately after KCON when they were here and we actually had a chance to see them.....

But nevertheless, this the proper dance cover after we performed "DKDK" (Pit-a-Pat) at Liberty City Anime Con, in August, with 2UNE, for their final concert.

We have more dances from that show and more lined up to release as well and I feel good about finally uploading consistently on our channel, after being basically inactive for such a long time.

We've also started streaming on our Face Book page every Tuesday at 7pm. If you're free you should definitely stop by, as all kinds of shenanigans and tomfoolery happen. So far we've unboxed Ari's new piano, played "how well do we know each other" , had an impromptu dance competition and played Quick Draw.

We're not sure what we're doing for tomorrow's stream so if you have any suggestions leave them in the comment section!

Yup yup, that's all for now~!

Choreography progress behind PaIII.SENSATION

Heyo~!!

It's been a few days since we've released our new choreography video.

This time we choreographed to PaIII.SENSATION by one of my favorite vocaloid producers, Yunosuke.

About a year ago I stumbled upon Yunosuke's channel and his incredible music and thought, "I have to make something to his work!"

But I also wanted to make something that we've never done before so I asked my good friend Raevyn from KuroPOP (and life) if she wanted to help me make a sassy chair dance. And we've been working on it ever since.

It took a while to line up our schedules but we finally got a consistent enough rehearsal time to actually get everything done!

Our goal was to make a chair dance where the chair's never looked awkwardly placed. PaIII.SENSATION is also sung by three different vocaloids; Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Lin and GUMI. We were actually each assigned a vocaloid so that the idea is, if these vocaloids were to sing this song live it matches up with the dance. It was suuuper challenging but I hope it turned out ok!

Raevyn is Miku, Ari is GUMI and I'm Lin. If you couldn't tell the first time around. Watch again and see if it makes a little more sense! I used Yunosuke's blog as a reference.

This time we also tried to take a thumbnail photo and decided on this one:

I also like these ~

Which one is your favorite? Let me know!

Aaaaaand finally, we uploaded a blooper video!

Probably the most difficult part about this dance were the transitions (especially with the chairs) so we tried to make them as clean as possible. I think it's because of that attention to detail (thanks to Ari) that we didn't struggle with that at all during the recording.

Special thanks to our good friend Lacey for filming for us!

Ciao!

2017/ Sakuro Tour/ Suzume/ Nanakawa Miko

Happy New Year ~ !

Hi everyone ~ !

It's a new year with lot's to look forward to.

I'm entering the new year with gratitude, new goals and an open heart.

2017 was a year of  pain and uncertainty but it was also a year of learning and growth and I'm ready for more!

I did some pretty cool things in 2017.  Some highlights were:

SaKURO Tour with KuroPOP

Last spring, KuroPOP held their second tour and this time we went to more locations!

The ones I participated in were

Sakura Matsuri D.C

performing "Sayonara Hitori" with Raevyn

Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival

Sakura Matsuri Brooklyn Botanic Garden

 And the Baltimore Cosplay Photoshoot

I unfortunately am taking a break from live performances with KuroPOP but I still support my girls fully and am looking forward to what they'll have planned during the Sakura Tour this year~

I also met Suzume again!!

During the summer we got to meet up and went to a super cute cafe down town called Pietro Nolita.

The decor was extremely adorable and the food was really really good omg

Suzume!!!

She gave me a copy of her photobook....and it's signed!!!

Pierto Nolita!!!

Pretty sure there were steak and pesto sandwiches (?)

Latte!!!

Watermelon juice!!!

Suzume is so sweet. I hope I get to meet her again.

To close the year off, Ari and I got to meet and collaborate with odorite Nanakawa Miko!

Miko is currently traveling to different countries and recording dances everywhere she goes. She reached out to us earlier in the year and asked if we wanted to collaborate and of course we said yes!!!

Here's our cover to "Snow Trick".

At the time Miko only had what she wore in the video and a shawl to cover herself in 18 degree weather. She had a bit of a cold at the time too. Despite that and only having arrive to New York the day before was incredible professional the entire time. Committed, energetic, positive and extremely pleasant. It was a joy and honor to work with her. Not to mention she also filmed another solo video in one take. No mistakes. Wow!

Afterwards we went to Five Guys together!

It was so nice to be inside after filming for a few hours....

Miko's first milkshake at Five Guys!!

I personally couldn't have found a better way to end 2017.

2018  is here and Ari and I have plans! That's all for now.

Ciao.
