MORNING MUSUME。'14 NYC

Good evening~!!

I got back from the concert a few hours ago.

It was sooooo good

I finally got to meet some of the people whose videos I've been watching for years!!

First, I ran into Bekah~!!

Shortly afterwards, I saw Berry from FrolicLassie~!

I wish I had been able to speak more than a few words to them.

We ran into them while trying to find the end of the line and I didn't see them again afterwards.

I planned on looking for them and a few others again after the concert but I felt so nauseous and fatigued that I went home as soon as the concert was over.I'm not sure if I can blame it on my slow recovery from being on antibiotics for over a week or my general feeling of being drained after interacting with huge crowds for several hours.

Ah, but there were also several people who recognized Ari and me from our channel!

Thank you so much for walking up to us and saying hi if you did~!

Anyways it really was a great show~!!

We were let into the theatre at 3:00pm. Ari and I headed straight for the merchandise line so that we could hopefully buy a CD that would guarantee us a spot at the handshake event. But the line was so long that we gave up and headed for the stage.

I thought the venue was pretty cool. I think the turn out was only at about a thousand so even though we were at the back of the line we had a pretty good view of the stage.

The show finally started at about 4:15ish.

I don't think I can talk about what happened in chronological order so I think I'll just make bullet points.

Firstly, I didn't realize just how much of Morning Musume's music was dance music before this concert. Listening to the arrangements on crappy laptop speakers is one thing but experiencing it in a concert hall with huge speakers is completely different. There were some songs I couldn't fully appreciate until today.

Seriously, H!P knows how to arrange electric music.

Kudou

Duu is my number one Oshi in Morning Musume and she performed on the side of the stage that we were on most of the time so I was extremely happy. She was absolutely flawless. She doesn't get many lines but I like watching how comfortable she is on stage and she always has fun even when she's not doing much. I watched her a lot.

Sakura

Every since I saw Sakura's message in English she's won a spot in my heart. Not only was she extremely adorable today but her voice was so powerful! I'm confident that she'll only improve from now on.

Iikubo

Poor Haruna is actually extremely awkward on stage. She not a very good dancer but somehow that made me love her even more.

Zukki

Today the audience cheered extremely loudly for Kanon before she even introduced herself and all of the members were extremely surprised. We were able to show Zukki that we love her and I felt so proud! She really is a strong performer and I enjoyed watching her!

Eripon

Erina looked so tired. I don't really remember that much about her. There was one time that she smiled and waved at the audience and it looked like true happiness came through. Maybe she's just very focused when she's dancing.

Ayumi

Ayumi is a pretty strong dancer. But I don't remember much about her. Maybe I paid too much attention to Kudou.

Riho

Everyone can shut up about Sayashi not deserving to be center because this girl has amazing stamina. It felt like at times her energy in the front is what held the group together. This became even more apparent when they did several songs back to back and some members started to get tired.

Mizuki

Fuku-chan. I absolutely adore her. She's probably my second favorite in Morning Musume. Her presence is much more subtle than the fiery performance that Riho or Ayumi bring to the stage but she was just so fluffy and perfect. To me she's like the Sugar Plum Fairy of Momusu.

Maa-chan

Maa-chan is so mischievous, She was laughing at Sayumi struggling to read her thank you speech to the audience in English. She's such a brat, I love it!

Sayumi

Chayu the dependable leader. Sayu the cutest girl on the planet. It amazed my how well she fit into a group of girls, some almost half her age. I'm so grateful that I got to see her live before she graduates. She really is a top idol. I'm going to miss her so much!!! And I'm so glad I got to hear her go "ufufu~♥" when she laughs in person as well!

My favorite numbers were probably TIKI BUN, Wakuteka Take a Chance, and Shabonbama.

By the time they sung their last number I couldn't believe two hours had actually passed.

I was having so much fun~!

I almost cried several times during the encore. They sung "Toki wo Koe, Sora wo Koe". They even wore the original outfits!  I'd actually just re-watched the PV this morning and sobbed so I'm proud of myself for not bursting into hysterics during their performance.

It was glorious. Those dresses are so gorgeous.

They also sung Happy Daisakusen as their final song that I don't know that well but it's much more upbeat that your typical H!P closing song so it didn't feel like my heart had been completely ripped out. As they waved goodbye I only had the feeling of completeness. I really am glad I got to see them

Thankfully I was able to grab a microfiber towel at the merch booth in Kudou's color.  Besides a handshake ticket, that's really all I wanted!! I have no clue what I'm going to do with it...

At least it feels nice!!

My next goal is to go to BabyMetal's concert this November!

As well as to not become extremely sick the week before!

And now to rest.

I'm glad you had a good time and got to meet Bekah and Berry. It's too bad that you had to go home so quickly though. It's really cool that people recognized you!!! If you hadn't have been ill I would say that you definitely should have braved the CD line before they're too famous to do handshake events anymore! What I wouldn't do to shake Arashi's hands and tell them how much I appreciate them... Haha

I totally know what you mean about the speakers! Music actually does sound better live. I'm really glad that we were both able to see our idols this year and I hope you get to see Baby Metal too! :)
