2017/ Sakuro Tour/ Suzume/ Nanakawa Miko

Happy New Year ~ !

Hi everyone ~ !

It's a new year with lot's to look forward to.

I'm entering the new year with gratitude, new goals and an open heart.

2017 was a year of  pain and uncertainty but it was also a year of learning and growth and I'm ready for more!

I did some pretty cool things in 2017.  Some highlights were:

SaKURO Tour with KuroPOP

Last spring, KuroPOP held their second tour and this time we went to more locations!

The ones I participated in were

Sakura Matsuri D.C

performing "Sayonara Hitori" with Raevyn

Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival

Sakura Matsuri Brooklyn Botanic Garden

 And the Baltimore Cosplay Photoshoot

I unfortunately am taking a break from live performances with KuroPOP but I still support my girls fully and am looking forward to what they'll have planned during the Sakura Tour this year~

I also met Suzume again!!

During the summer we got to meet up and went to a super cute cafe down town called Pietro Nolita.

The decor was extremely adorable and the food was really really good omg

Suzume!!!

She gave me a copy of her photobook....and it's signed!!!

Pierto Nolita!!!

Pretty sure there were steak and pesto sandwiches (?)

Latte!!!

Watermelon juice!!!

Suzume is so sweet. I hope I get to meet her again.

To close the year off, Ari and I got to meet and collaborate with odorite Nanakawa Miko!

Miko is currently traveling to different countries and recording dances everywhere she goes. She reached out to us earlier in the year and asked if we wanted to collaborate and of course we said yes!!!

Here's our cover to "Snow Trick".

At the time Miko only had what she wore in the video and a shawl to cover herself in 18 degree weather. She had a bit of a cold at the time too. Despite that and only having arrive to New York the day before was incredible professional the entire time. Committed, energetic, positive and extremely pleasant. It was a joy and honor to work with her. Not to mention she also filmed another solo video in one take. No mistakes. Wow!

Afterwards we went to Five Guys together!

It was so nice to be inside after filming for a few hours....

Miko's first milkshake at Five Guys!!

I personally couldn't have found a better way to end 2017.

2018  is here and Ari and I have plans! That's all for now.

Ciao.

April ~ !!!!!

(note: this should have been posted a few days ago but i mistakenly left this post in drafts ;;)

Hi hi!!!

Ki here!!!

It's been a while (as usual)

I'm here to talk about the shenanigans ensued over the past month!

First up, Tekko!

Ari and I had the privilege of being invited back to Tekko this year by Jump Ship! , to dance at the DMU (Dance Masters United) dance showcase again!

This time we shared the stage with Jump Ship!, and Nova Drop.

From Thursday to Saturday it felt like I dance non-stop, I was so freaking happy!!

Friday, Ari and I danced to Marine Dreamin' on the main stage as special guests at the dance competition!

Saturday, we danced to Burning alongside Pom, leader of Jump Ship! and a very good friend of mine!

Ari and I also danced our new choreography for the first time at the showcase and it felt great!  We'll unfortunately only be able to upload it to Nico Nico Douga for the time being so we're working on another dance to make up for it....

Mr. Music with Jump Ship!!!

Tekko's stage is pretty big and the tech staff was super skilled! It was such an amazing experience to be able to dance on the main stage with proper lighting and a huge crowd!

I really hope that more conventions will begin to open up their stages to dancing acts! The audience was super responsive and we even got personal feedback later on how enjoyable the showcase was!

So far Tekko has been my most enjoyable con to date and I hope that they'll continue to invite us back next year!

The week after I traveled to D.C. with KuroPOP for Sakura Matsuri D.C. and Nipponcon!!

This year we really challenged ourselves with a few more difficult dances! My favorite from our set list was probably "LOVE TROOPER" by Prizmmy

Sakura Matsuri was a lot of fun. The weather was amazing and this year we stayed at a hotel closer to the venue so we actually got to walk around the festival after our stage!

This year we also sold merchandise!!

Thank you so much to anyone who bought something from us or even just stopped by to say hello! It's meant a lot!

This Sakura Matsuri was also 2une's first experience on the D.C. stage an I felt so proud to watch them from the crowd!

They were so cute and I loved their outfits!!! The crowd really loved their performance and I'm really looking forward to seeing again soon! ☆

I was able to get a polaroid shot with them after their stage ~ ☆

I keep it in my purse ~ ☆

Both Sakura D.C. and Nipponcon were stops on KuroPOP's SaKURO tour!!! We have one more stop at Sakura Matsuri Brooklyn Botanical Gardens this weekend ~!  Our stages are Saturday at 11:15 am and Sunday 12:30pm!!!

Also!

Ari and I will be appearing as guests at Chibicon this Saturday! Our stage time is tba but if you'll be attending any of these events please let me know ~ ☆

Today I wrote this entry to "Run With You" by Fairies and "Just Right" by Got7. Check 'em out!!

Ciao!

Sakura Matsuri D.C. → Tekkoshokon ☆

It's been two days  since Sakura Matsuri so I guess I'll update my blog!

After about a month of preparation KuroPOP has finally performed at Sakura Matsuri D.C.

There were a few technical difficulties on stage but staff was extremely helpful and  the crowd was very lively and cheered us on so we had a very good show!

Thank you so much!!!

I ran into some familiar faces as well.

Pitamin!!!

After our stage she asked for a picture with the group and me being an idiot I didn't recognize her at first...(haha)

We didn't have much time to walk around because we had to get back to the city so about an hour after our stage we headed to Chinatown. I was surprised by how much more commercial the Chinatown in D.C. is compared to the one in New York City. It's really pretty and I highly recommend a visit if you're ever in D.C. with time to kill.

Chinatown pics ☆

Sakura Matsuri was on Saturday and this Thursday I'll be heading to Tekko!!!

As I said in my last post, Ari and I will be performing with CosStarDance and Abracadabra, Saturday on the Main Stage at 3:30pm!!!

If you'll be attending, please let me know!!!

That's all for now ☆

KuroPOP's first live performance!!

Yahho!!

Late night post~My first post in 2015!!!!

The New Year aside, I haven't been updating that often.

To make up for it...

An off set pic ~

How's that????

Speaking of KuroPOP...

We performed for the first time on Saturday at Divsi6n's "Brooklyn 2 Tokyo" event!

This was my first performance since almost a year ago at ChoParty.

The venue was really nice~ It was held at the Art Cafe + Bar in Brooklyn.

It was so much fun! The audience really enjoyed it~They chanted "KuroPOP!! KuroPOP!!" at the end~ I was so surprised!!

We prepared a lot so I'm glad it was successful.

Ari even came to support from the audience which I was grateful for.

We performed four songs:

Galaxias!

Her (Block  b)

Pink stick Luv (three person version)

My Copycat (Orange Caramel)

I think My Copycat was my favorite. Right before we danced we taught the audience the dance break that happens after every chorus. We signaled them with a "go!" to start and almost everyone really danced along with us which made it even more enjoyable.

Seriously, after this performance, I just want to perform again!!!

Hey!

You should follow our instagram to keep up with KuroPOP activities! Here's a video highlight from the show~

A video posted by KuroPOP (@kuropopnyc) on

Besides us, there were rappers, djing and smash bros. happening!!

Thank you so much to everyone who came, and thank you Divisi6n for hosting a great event!

We're working tirelessly so that we can appear at more events.

Look out for us~~
